How to Use ILLiad
Please read the Copyright Information as well as the ILLiad FAQ.
You can enter your username and password on the Logon Screen to access your account if you already have one. If you don't have an account, click the First Time Users link to register. You will be e-mailed when your registration is approved.
The ILLiad Main Menu Page is divided into three sections: Request Types, Review Requests, and Review Personal Information.
In the Request Types section of the Main Menu page:
- To place a request, choose a request type. A request screen will appear.
- Fill in all the information you have about the material you want.
- Press the Submit Request button at the bottom of the page.
You will be returned to the Main Menu page if your request was submitted successfully. If there were any errors in your request, the request page will re-appear with errors explained in the status field at the top of the page.
In the Review Requests section you can choose:
- View/Modify outstanding requests to check on the status of your requests and edit information.
- View/Download Electronically Received Articles if you have been notified that you have received an article for web delivery.
- View/Renew Checked Out Items to check on the due dates of books you currently have checked out and to request a renewal for them.
- View Request History to see all of your completed requests.
- View/Resubmit Cancelled Requests to see requests that you or the interlibrary loan staff have cancelled and to resubmit them with more information.
In the Review Personal Information section you can choose:
- Change User Information to edit your personal information, e-mail address, or notification preferences.
- Change Password to change your existing password. If you forget your password, contact the Interlibrary Loan Office at 781-3018 or e-mail us at ILLlib@hws.edu.
You will be e-mailed when you can pick up your material at the circulation desk. If you prefer to be notified via campus mail or a phone call, you can click the Change User Information button on your main menu page to edit your preferences.
